What's the deal here?

My name is Ben and I rent high-quality e-bikes for exploring Block Island the right way - quiet, easy, and actually fun. You can either pick up your bikes from me in Point Judith before boarding the traditional ferry or (new!) I’ll ship them over to the island via Block Island Ferry Freight at an additional cost of $25 per bike. Reserve ahead - same-day is never guaranteed (but sometimes possible, so please call!) - and I’ll text a short safety video to your phone so you’re dialed in before you ride. If you want hands-on help, I can be available at my Point Judith location and would be delighted to give you a quick tutorial! Helmets, locks, and a tidy setup are all included. Simple.

How I got here (the short version)

I moved from Chicago to Rhode Island after graduating from the University of Colorado. While I was still in school I worked with e-bikes (shoutout to my time at     ), and that’s where I learned how capable, safe, and intuitive they can be. I love Block Island's natural beauty and thought: why not build a small, well-run e-bike outfit that actually makes days here better?

Can you believe we’re still doing mopeds?

Moped
Mopeds

Block Island is one of the few tourist spots still leaning on loud, exhaust-heavy mopeds while much of the world has moved to quiet, intuitive e-bikes. The legacy setup here has meant crowded lots, visual blight, and pricey, so-so options for visitors. I applied for a local rental license and was effectively ignored. So, I designed around it. I launched from Point Judith (and now ship by ferry freight) because I was convinced the island would be better served by a safer, calmer, cleaner option. The rest -hundreds of rides and happy reviews -speaks for itself.

Results That Matter

Since then, I’ve rented 900+ e-bikes. It turns out that when you set folks up properly and give them good bikes, they ride responsibly.

Why e-bikes on Block Island?

They’re quiet, efficient, and approachable. You move at your own pace, see more, and don’t fight for parking. Many of the roads and beach approaches feel made for bikes, and with pedal-assist, you get the views without the grind. Bottom line: for most visitors, e-bikes are the sweet spot between walking everywhere and dealing with the loud, clumsy, and pricey alternatives.

How it works

2 ways to do this: Pick up in Point Judith before boarding any traditional ferry to Block Island, or I ship from the Point Judith freight office to the Block Island freight office (+$25/bike round-trip), and then you'll ship them back to me from the same place you picked them up. I'll handle the rest!

Coming from elsewhere? Montauk, New London, Newport, flying in from Westerly—no problem. The freight option is built for you.

Reserve ahead: Same-day availability is never guaranteed, but sometimes available, so please call!

Safety made easy: A short video sent straight to your phone covers the basics of operating the bike safely and respectfully. Or, if possible, stop by my Point Judith location and I'll give you a tutorial or test ride.

What’s included: Helmet, lock, and a medium - large bag for your stuff.

What we stand for

Respect the island. Set riders up for success. Keep it simple, safe, and honest. I’ll keep investing in great equipment, clear guidance, and a system that helps you have your best day out there—no noise, no nonsense.
