How do I rent an electric bike to use on Block Island?

  • You can rent one of our RAD Power electric bikes at our Galilee location. We are located at 235 Sand Hill Cove Road, Narragansett, Rhode Island. Just steps from where the Point Judith ferry departs!

Can / should I reserve bikes in advance?

  • Yes! For now, you must reserve your bikes over the phone or through email in advance as we cannot guarantee availability day of.

How far can the bikes go on a single charge?

  • Our Rad Power bikes can be ridden 40+ miles on a single charge. Ultimately it comes down to how you choose to ride the bike. Don't want to pedal and just want to use the throttle to glide around the island effortlessly? No problem, just know that you might only get 25-30 miles on a full charge. That would still be generally sufficient for a full days exploration, just keep that in mind.

How do I get the bike to Block Island?

  • In most cases, the bikes must be transported to Block Island aboard the Point Judith Traditional Ferry. You must purchase a ticket for the e-bike from the ferry company at a cost of ~$18. You can make this purchase in advance or on the day of travel. We recommend you purchase this ticket in advance.

Do I have to go to Block Island?

  • Nope! We're plenty happy to point you in the direction of some fun on the mainland! Spending the weekend in Narragansett? Our bikes are the perfect companion for your trip! We're more than happy to deliver bikes to your rental! Just call and we can work with you!

What are your rates for electric bike rentals?

  • Most rentals will cost $99 for one 8-hour period. Leave on the first ferry and return on the last ferry for $115. Discounts are available for multi-day rentals and groups. â€‹â€‹

Are there any age restrictions for renting an electric bike?

  • In most cases, you must be at least 16 years old and have parental consent or 18+. (Younger riders are welcome to join an adult as a passenger! - special seats are available for small children!)

Do I need to wear a helmet?

  • Yes, for your safety, helmets must be worn at all times while riding and will be provided. You may also bring your own approved helmet.

What happens if the bike breaks down during my trip?

  • Each bike undergoes thorough preventative maintenance to ensure reliability. However, in the unlikely event of a breakdown, we are always just one call away and will do what's necessary to remedy the situation.

What are your policies on bike theft or loss during the rental period?

  • The renter is responsible for the electric bike during the rental period. In case of theft or loss, the renter may be held liable for the replacement cost if optional rental damage and theft insurance is not purchased. We will provide locks and recommend keeping the bike secured when not in use.
